July's 2008 Planetary Events

As the month of July begins Mars enters the Sign of Virgo.  The sign of Virgo is ruled by Mercury, and represents the 6th house. The 6th house represents service to other people. Service to others can be for a benefit, like a paycheck, prestige or special treatment, and sometimes just out of a sense of loyalty. The sign of Virgo represents allegiance and misplaced loyalties, which can cause psychological and physical stress. Giving too much and then not knowing how to say “no”, or knowing that if you refuse there will be consequences to pay.  The sign of Virgo and the 6th house can bring these kin of dilemmas to he surface.
The last time both Mars and Saturn were in Virgo was May and June 1980…Events that have taken place when Mars and Saturn were in Virgo: 1980 Mount St Helen’s erupted.
Could another Volcano be ready to explode?
We can expect some turbulent weather and natural events.
 The combination of Saturn and Mars will bring circumstances in our life’s that have to change to a head.  It’s interesting that Mars will be entering Virgo jut as Saturn will be leaving its shadow degrees.  Saturn retrograded at 8.34* Virgo, when it passes 8.34* Virgo it will be in new territory and bring new experience with it.  So it’s shake up time! Things have to reach a climatic point, we have to face a crisis, things have to explode and then settle down in order for us to move on.  Since the sign of Virgo also rules health, some could have health issues that bring everyone together.  Saturn rules fender benders and you would be wise to be careful driving.  Virgo rules those psychological motivations that create drama and crisis in our lives to draw attention to our suffering.  Virgo rules intimidation and it could be that many of you are being intimidated and bullied, this could be the transit or the month it stops, but not without a bang! Don’t push others the limit, be patient and don’t over react to stressful situations. 
The Sun in Cancer and Mars in Virgo talks about the simple life.  Getting back to basics and doing things the old fashioned way.  It’s grass roots and this could be the month that changes everyone and gets everyone on board o take better care of the planet.  This I not an ostentatious month, nor will waste and the grand life be popular.  This will be a natural, simple month.  Since the outer planets Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde and their influence the antithesis of what it is when it’s direct, the most potent planetary influences will be the lunation’s, Mars, Saturn the Nodes, and the personal planets.  Making this month a day to day, moment to moment, simplified.
Don’t let the Virgo energy distract you with worrying about what might happen, keep focused and determined. Typically what you fear the most never, ever happens at all.

Monthly Overview of What's Ahead

Time in a Bottle...

As Mercury is retrograde for most of the month of June, in its own powerful placement of Gemini we will be more conscious of the influence of time.  That sounds really simple doesn't it?
Mercury rules time, as we can see it on our watches.  Our daily schedules, and routines are under the rulership of Mercury.  The Sun and the Moon rule time.  One rules the day time, the other rules the night.
Uranus rules urgent timing. The sense of urgency you feel to make drastic changes in your life.  Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, as such rules the big changes in our lives. Pisces, where Uranus is transiting could be said to rule completion. As Uranus moves into Aries in the coming years we will once again be starting over.  Uranus fills us with an anticipation of future events, and things to come! When it's time for you to fulfill your destined calling, it's Uranus who steps in, grabs you by the scruff of your neck, regardless of where you are and what you are doing, and puts you on an all together different path.
Saturn, whose Roman name is Chronos, the roman name for time, rules time too. The slow time that makes us wait for things, and work hard to achieve things.  Saturn doesn't reward impatience, it rewards slow and steady growth that’s well though out.  In Virgo, Saturn is making us look inward at making sure our time is compensated for.  Wasting your time on others is a Virgo thing.  Feeling a false sense of responsibility towards others makes it seem as if their time is more important than yours. It's when they start treating you as if their time is more important or their lives are more important than yours, that you realize you've made a mistake. Changing patterns isn't easy though. When you begin to say "no" to people who are taking too much of your time, they get rebellious, hate you and, in extreme case cut you off because they can't use you anymore.
Uranus in Pisces says there is a time and a place for giving away your time, and charity. Uranus will continue to work on each one of us guiding us as to the appropriate way to give or time to others. 
With Mercury Retrograde in Gemini, Uranus retrograde in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo, Virgo is also ruled by Mercury, we could feel the pressure of time and the anticipation, that now is our time!
Wasting time, wasting time on people who don’t deserve our time, others taking too much of our time, what is our time worth, being on time, not being on time, taking time off, being stopped by bad weather or traffic, stuck in time;  by the time the end of the month comes and Mercury goes direct we will have thought seriously about all these things. We won’t let others take our time, we will avoid traffic delays, and we won’t waste our own time on things or people that aren’t that important to our lives.  We will get off the phone if the conversation is wasting time. We will become more efficient, but not machine like, just more personally efficient in our own lives.

Saturn is in the same degrees as the planet transited since September 2007, and Mars was also transiting the sign of Gemini then, Cancer and retrograded back into Gemini,  January and February 2008.  As Mars entered the sign of Cancer again, Saturn was retrograde at 4-3 degrees Virgo, where it will be in June.  Now the Sun is in Gemini and will enter Cancer where Mars recently transited and Saturn will be direct in the degrees of 3-4 Virgo.  In July Mars enters Virgo where Saturn will still be in his shadow. Saturn’s retrograde degree is 8.34, where it will pass on August 8, 2008. Mars will oppose Uranus August 7th and Venus will enter Virgo. You may have to read this several times before you get the implications or understand the ebb and flow of the cycle. Some of you will never understand this, and that's because you haven't reached a place where this knowledge is opened to your consciousness. You either get it or you don't.  So until Saturn transits past 8.34 *, there are many issues that are still holding us back. After the eclipses in August though old issues will become obsolete or come to a head, new directions, new energy will come in, change, and breakthroughs will be heralded in.

This is a minor overview. While the transits are the same and the events, and experiences they bring will be familiar or the same, what we have learned, how we react and our actions may be different. How we have grown will be and should be different. How will these transits affect your sun sign, your rising sign or your natal birth chart?

In this fast world we live in, we look for fast answers to our problems.  Astrology can assist us in finding answers to our questions and needs, although they are not always the answers we want to hear.  Sometimes even using this vast resource at our disposal we have to dig a little deeper to find the hidden meanings and nuances.  Seeking help or looking for solutions to your troubles sometimes leads you on a different quest altogether.  We live in a vast universe that mimics our lives…we are vast and deep with divine souls and sometimes astrology leads us to something more divine than what we thought we were in search of.
