Who is Eris? Eris was a Goddess was not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis because the other gods knew her presence would bring chaos to the celebration on Mount Pelion. Feeling enraged by this snub, Eris crashed the party and threw a golden apple into the midst of the goddesses, inscribed with the words "For the Fairest." This act ultimately sparked the events that led to the Trojan War.
