Aquarius: (Jan 21-Feb. 19):   As January begins Saturn the karmic task master is retrograde in the sign of Virgo.  Retrogrades bring opportunities for review.  The reality is, we get 3 chances at the big karmic lessons that Saturn teaches.  The 1^st, when the planet has its first pass, the 2^nd when the planet retrogrades and the 3^rd when the planet goes direct again, for a third pass. How the 2^nd and 3^rd affect you is dependent on how much you resist the energy.  Typically a retrograde asks us to release or let go of an action, habit, idea or behavior.  The more unwilling we are to submit, the more difficult the transit will be. In your solar 8^th house of ridding yourself of bad habits, addictions, life and death sex and healing, this house is a house of secrets and mystery it's where we fear death and letting go because we don't know how our lives will be if we actually let go of a habit, a person, an addiction and illicit love affair, or another's money!  It's not an easy transit and this year it is additionally made more difficult by the opposition to Uranus! If you don't break your bad habits, Uranus will make you!

Since the newly elected president Barack Obama was elected when Saturn was at 19* Virgo, he's going to have to try to do the impossible and keep his promises or he will come under severe criticism when Saturn resumes direct motion. Since the Israeli war with the Palestinians began just before Saturn's retrograde this suggests it will continue through January and then again when Saturn approaches 21* Virgo again near the eclipses in August. The planets Mars, Mercury and Venus have all changed signs and now the challenges begin.

Mercury ruler of your 5thhouse of children, love and luck enters Aquarius your solar 1^st house of charm and personality.  Just about everything you attempt to do or put into motion ha great potential and could prove very fortunate now! You make your own luck and opportunities.

Venus the planet of love ruler of your 9th house of new experiences, travel and learning  enters Pisces       your solar 2^nd house of money giving an added boost to taking chances and following your hunches.  Legal matters can be resolved and money can be made through them.

Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion enters the unique and exciting sign of Aquarius your solar 1^st house of physical appearance, charm and magnetic attraction making you the belle of the ball! People will give you more recognition and notice you more than they ever had. Jupiter will join Chiron and Neptune already in the sign of Aquarius, on a personal and romantic level we will rebel against anyone using evasive behavior where you have to read between the lines and innuendos which keep you longing for the possibility of and hope of something down the line.  Subtle hints, innuendos, implied promises and clandestine messages play on that part of your brain we are not used to using, causing a reaction of the nuclear type, when continual disappointment results.

The Full Moon at 21* Cancer occurs in your solar 6^th house of work and co workers who you feel very close to.  Changes could occur in the work place, and there could be people who are let go or leave.

 Mercury goes retrograde at 7* Aquarius until January 31^st when it resumes direct motion at 21* Capricorn, where it was last on December 26^th, 2008, in your solar 1^st house of self assertion your coordination could be off, so it's best to concentrate more as you walk of ice, especially if you are in a colder region! Typically Mercury retrogrades aren't a good time to start new ventures, relationships, sign contracts and make commitments.

The Sun enters Aquarius just in time for the US Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.  The Sun will transit your solar 1^st house this is your time of the year for fresh starts and starting over.  Put all your thoughts into action or formulate a new plan of action for your future and the goals you would like to achieve.

There's a New Moon eclipse at 6* Aquarius a Solar Eclipse PT and the Chinese will celebrate The Chinese New Year, "Year of the OX". Hard work leading to success is the theme of the Year of the OX!  This occurs in your solar This is a powerful eclipse in your 1^st house of new beginnings and a time when you are apt to get your way more.  Since Aquarius is electric and magnetic you could attract lots of interest from the opposite sex!

Mercury retrograde conjoins Mars in Capricorn, and these two planets have been transiting side by side like little soldiers for about the last year!  Their influence is felt in tele-communications, weather and electrical mishaps or outages. This could infer that a 3-4 day outage in one of these areas is possible.  In your solar 12^th house of self undoing keep up on maintenance and repairs of appliances and cars or you could get stranded.  As the month ends Mercury goes direct in Capricorn.
