Leo: (Jul. 23-Aug. 24): As January begins Saturn the karmic task master is retrograde in the sign of Virgo. Retrogrades bring opportunities for review. The reality is, we get 3 chances at the big karmic lessons that Saturn teaches. The 1st, when the planet has it's first pass, the 2nd when the planet retrogrades and the 3rd when the planet goes direct again, for a third pass. How the 2nd and 3rd affect you is dependent on how much you resist the energy. Typically a retrograde asks us to release or let go of an action, habit, idea or behavior. The more unwilling we are to submit, the more difficult the transit will be. In your solar 2nd house of money it's more important then ever that you organize and prioritize your personal assets. It's ok to own things on your own, you don't have to share everything you own and you don't owe anyone a living or cash. There could be problems in your life where others see you as too soft a touch and this has depleted your resources, and wreaks havoc on your self esteem. Keep an accounting of who you give to, how much you give and when.
Since the newly elected president Barack Obama was elected when Saturn was at 19* Virgo, he's going to have to try to do the impossible and keep his promises or he will come under severe criticism when Saturn resumes direct motion. Since the Israeli war with the Palestinians began just before Saturn's retrograde this suggests it will continue through January and then again when Saturn approaches 21* Virgo again near the eclipses in August .
The planets Mars, Mercury and Venus have all changed signs and now the challenges begin. Mercury ruler of your 2nd and 11thhouses enters Aquarius your solar 7th house of marriage and significant others. This suggests something is seriously askew with your perception of money, services rendered and your personal relationships. Neptune the planet of irresistible dreams parallels this combination, making both wishes and dreams not just come true but, come alive. A close bunching of planets that includes the Sun, Mercury, Mars, the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune, the Lunar Nodes and Pluto in the signs of Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius giving a strong emphasis on these 3 signs in the upper quadrant. In our lives this deals with our strong desire to always better ourselves. In the mundane world, its government and authority and those who rule over us, for good or for bad. Leo: (Jul. 23-Aug. 24): The month of November begins in a New Moon Cycle and change is on the horizon. The transits are so influential that things may never be the same again! After Mars leaves Scorpio on November 16th we will feel different and be different! By the end of November 2008 all the outer planets will be direct, ushering in a quickening of the pace and hope about a recovery on all levels could be in the air. Pluto will leave the sign of Sagittarius for good, (well for a good long while), and the United States could have its 1st black president. With the election out of the way, the world can focus on the rebuilding and healing of the economic markets and mother earth.
Neptune the planet of illusions, ruler of the sign of Pisces and the 12th house goes direct. Our Illusions, delusions, complexes, evasive behavior, and not facing reality about ourselves and others surfaces now. Neptune takes us through this journey, if you are willing to go, where things are as we would like to imagine them to be, not how they are. Not everyone takes the same journey with Neptune, but, none the less, we witness it in others and in some strange way have to experience it anyways! As Neptune goes direct we see more clearly through the web of illusion. How did we not see that! How many times have you lost something only to find it in a right there where you already looked? It's not that what you were looking for moved, it's that you just didn't see it. With Neptune retrograde it's harder to see things that are right there in front of us. Even if we do see we may just lack the confidence to take action. Neptune also rules self sacrifice and self less service, and even that can go terribly wrong. If you give too much or give to the wrong people you end up being and feeling used. Very few of us are at the level of Mother Theresa and are able to live truly saintly and selfless lives! The planets now demand accountability and reality! How will you handle Neptune going direct? Will you suddenly wake up from a dream state, or become incredibly inspired to do some great creative works? In your solar 7th house of relationships, marriage, significant others, and conflict leading to lawsuits, knowing where you begin and someone else ends could indicate that boundaries are being crossed. Too much togetherness or too much sharing without rules and give and take can lead to an Identity crisis. Giving too much or too little can result feeling used. Leo: (Jul. 23-Aug. 24): The Outlook: Many intense aspects come into play as the month of September begins. The Sun in Virgo very close to the planet Saturn and of course trining Jupiter, the North and South Nodes are at 18* Aquarius and Leo, the line up of the personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars in Libra suggest a cycle of beginnings for those with planets at 13* that lasts through November when Saturn is at 18*, where the Nodes currently are. Jupiter trines Saturn and this continues throughout the last quarter of the year. This is a protective aspect and most likely very well needed. Since the sign of Virgo is the 12th house of the sign of Libra this can portend to crisis events, perhaps more storm activity in the Caribbean, east coast of the United States and the Gulf of Mexico. The planets also converge North of Moscow Russia and on the West Coast of the United States, Washington State and Vancouver, BC, making these areas very likely to feel the brunt of some of these aspects, and subject to weather disturbances natural events like volcanic eruption, and earthquakes. In the case of Moscow, another volatile and deadly over reaction to their neighbors is likely.
Normally people would say that the planets transiting the sign of Libra would bring love, marriage, lovers and relationship activity. Diplomacy, agreements and balance to world events. What if though, Libra had a darker side? With Saturn and the Sun (light), in the 12th house of Libra, the scales are unbalanced, and exposed by the Sun's light. This could bring to light unsavory love affairs, disappointment, sadness, and sorrow in relationships. It could bring loss of relationships, because of fear, inability to commit, and even deception. As your horoscope month begins The New Moon Eclipse or Solar Eclipse occurs at 9.32* Leo, August 1st, your solar 1st house of independence, assertion, physical beauty, and going it alone. So much has been picked away from you that in a strange turn of events you could reclaim or it could just come back to you naturally. A more independent Leo is emerging but not overnight. Interesting that The Lunar South Node in Leo will be at 9.32* January 4th 2009, heralding in another solar eclipse in Aquarius of January 26, 2009 and Lunar eclipse February 9th at 20* Leo. This suggests long term effects to situations and new experiences that are not solved easily. This period also falls during the inauguration of our next president which is sure to be a competitive one. Saturn moves out of its shadow August 8, 2008 near the presidential primaries and then we have another set of eclipses surrounding the inauguration. This can bring in a new dynamic cycle of events into all of our lives, about what though? In your solar 1st house the competition can be felt, and you are not about to give in or hide from a god competition or fight. Leo is taking matters into his/her own hands.
The Lunar eclipse at 24* Aquarius, in your solar 7th house of others, significant people, best friends, marriage partners, mates and business partners, someone could be trying to take all the responsibility for your success and that's not a good feeling. You know the truth, and you know you put in a lot of work to achieve and get where you are now. A midpoint between the two eclipses (a midpoint is when we add the two up two degrees of two planets or luminaries and divide by 2) is at 16.50*. Saturn moves out of its shadow at 8* bringing in new Saturnian lessons. In your solar 2nd house of money and personal moral convictions, you may have to switch sides or switch gears in order to live the life you know you want to live without compromising yourself. A new idea leads to that new approach but, we are just building upon a reality or circumstance that is already there.
